Our Work
Our work centers on restoring the health of the ahupuaʻa while honoring and perpetuating the cultural heritage of our community. Through archaeological site restoration, coastal rehabilitation, educational programs, and the creation of a historic genealogical archive, we reconnect people to place and ancestry. These efforts ensure that traditional knowledge and stories are preserved and passed on to future generations.

We seek to perpetuate the ancestral spaces from mauka to makai through environmental rehabilitation & recovery of archaeological sites beginning with the historic fishing village of Kawa Bay and the kauhale.
Educational Workshops
Guided by ike kupuna we are committed to establishing educational opportunities for Hilea descendants and the greater Hawaiian community through hands on engagement.

We are dedicated to coastal rehabilitation through hands-on marine debris removal, loko iʻa (fishpond) restoration, invasive species removal, and native plant outplanting, helping to heal and protect both the land and the ocean for future generations.
Historical Archive for Kau
We aim to connect to the unique family and place histories of Hilea, both past and present and are committed to creating a historic geneological archive for the families of Kau.
